Make Maths Fun
Could you imagine your child enjoying maths and actually asking to play maths games? With a simple pack of playing cards you can turn maths into a fun game which also improves numeracy fluency. Being fluent with number facts, is essential for all children at all levels of mathematics. What better way to improve their number fact fluency than with a little bit of healthy family competition and fun?

We at ThrivEd CQ love seeing the excitement and joy on our student's faces when that little lightbulb goes off in their head and they finally understand a concept that they just haven't been able to grasp in the classroom. No matter if it's with Dea in the primary school sessions or Damien with his high school students, if kids don't have quick recall of their number facts, everything is just that little bit more difficult. Imagine your child being able to instantly recall addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts without having to use their fingers or calculators. That is what regular fluency practice can achieve.

Primary Specialist
Dea Senini
I am a primary school educator with 25 years of experience, including 12 years as an assistant principal. Throughout my career, I’ve mentored teachers to refine their practice, developed curriculum programs, and supported thousands of students in discovering who they are as learners.
My core beliefs are simple: trust and safety come before learning can occur and learning happens when it is personalised and supported. When a child feels safe, valued, and supported, they are far more willing, and able, to take risks, persevere, and make meaningful progress. My work is driven by the conviction that every child deserves to feel capable, confident, and understood in their learning journey.
Secondary Specialist
Damien Hogan
I am a secondary educator with extensive experience supporting young people to develop confidence, capability, and independence in their learning. Across my career, I have worked closely with students who feel disengaged, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to succeed within traditional learning environments.
My approach is grounded in a simple belief: when students understand how they learn, and feel safe to explore, take risks, and learn from their mistakes, everything changes and learning begins to make sense. I focus on helping learners build the skills that sit beneath academic success, including organisation, problem solving, resilience, and self belief. By combining clear structure with practical strategies, I support students to move from frustration to confidence, and from dependence to independence.
